About BarakoTech

A small team, one shared workspace, and a stubborn belief that software should fit you.

BarakoTech is named after kapeng barako— the bold, no-nonsense Filipino coffee. That's the energy: strong, honest, a little stubborn about quality. We're the coffee shop down the street, not the chain.

The team behind it

A small team. On purpose.

We're a tight crew — engineers and designers who've worked together for nearly a decade. Small enough that you'll know us by the second call. Experienced enough that we've shipped enterprise software to thousands of users.

Operations & Strategy
Part of the small core team

Industrial engineers, project leads, the people who keep things on the rails.

Backed by 10+ years of running projects, ops, and business development inside software companies. They translate between your team and ours — catching the things engineers don't think to ask, and making sure what we build actually fits how your business runs. Workflows-as-systems thinking, not just diagrams on a slide.

Engineering & Design
Part of the small core team

Full-stack engineers, designers, the people writing the code and sweating the pixels.

15+ years across web, mobile, cloud, cybersecurity, and product design. Active contributors in the Philippine open-source community. Hands-on-keyboard from day one, not delegating it down a chain. We like problems that look unsolvable on Monday and obvious by Friday.

“We left a comfortable job because we kept seeing small businesses pay enterprise prices for software that didn't quite fit them. BarakoTech is our attempt to fix that — one workflow at a time, for people we actually know by name.”

— The BarakoTech team

The road here

Twelve years, one decision.

A short history of how we got from the same office floor in 2014 to our own company in 2026.

2014

We met on a startup floor

Different desks, same coffee machine. Some of us led projects, others led engineering. The arguments started early and have, frankly, never stopped.

2016

Shipped to thousands of users

The startup hit product-market fit. We built out the team, the architecture, and a slightly unhealthy relationship with on-call rotations.

2020

Multi-million peso operation

Ten years in, the small product had grown into a real company with real revenue and real responsibilities. We were proud of it. We're still proud of it.

2025

Started imagining BarakoTech

We kept noticing the same thing: small businesses paying enterprise prices for software that didn't fit them. We started sketching what a different kind of software shop would look like.

2026

Brewed our first cup

Registered the company, set up shop in Manila, and took on our first engagements. A small team, one shared mission, no layers in between.

What we believe

Four things we won't bend on.

Every shop has its rules. These are ours.

Honest scoping

We'll tell you what something costs before you ask twice. If we think you don't need what you're asking for, we'll say that too.

Small by design

Our core team is on every project, every call. No account managers, no offshore handoffs, no “I'll have to check with the team”.

Ship, don't slide

We'd rather ship something small that works than something big that's almost done. Working software, every two weeks, no exceptions.

Yours when we leave

Code, infrastructure, documentation — everything is handed over. We earn your next engagement, we don't lock you into one.

Free, 30 min, zero obligation

Tell us what's slowing you down.

One call with our team. We'll listen, ask annoyingly specific questions, and tell you straight whether we can help. No deck. No follow-up emails for six months. Just a conversation, and probably a strong opinion or two.

  • 30 minutes, on your calendar
  • Direct with our small team
  • We'll prep — share what's painful
  • If we can't help, we'll say so
